Shylah Berlin
High School Intern
Capstone Project
Shylah Berlin is a Colorado native, born in Denver, currently residing in Loveland as a high school senior. She has a passion for learning about diplomacy, political science, and international affairs. Shylah enjoys discovering the processes and interactions that shape the global political landscape. Through these interests, she has found a great appreciation for the BCIV's focus on citizen diplomacy and has developed a deep investment in collaboration that encourages communities and organizations to cultivate and nurture new bonds that promote both social and cultural understanding, facilitated by the BCIV.
Her drive for global enrichment has led to her attending hundreds of cultural and civic-minded events, experiencing a multitude of cuisines, art, dance, music, traditions, and engaging with a plethora of communities, cultures, and subcultures. At these events, she makes it a point to meet and engage with the founders, coordinators, sponsors, guest speakers, and dignitaries. This immersion has allowed her to build collaborative connections and foster bonds that aid in her personal growth and social development.
Outside of the BCIV, Shylah has served as a member of a local philanthropic nonprofit organization, Give Next, for the past 5 years. She is a founding member and officer of her school's Science National Honor Society (SNHS) chapter. She also holds membership in National Honor Society (NHS), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). She is currently an AP Scholar with distinction and is working to earn a Seal of Biliteracy in German.
