My late husband and I moved to Boulder in 1970 and have been members of BCIV since the 70s. I was born in Boston to Czech parents, but my family moved to England in 1950. I returned to the US for college on the East Coast, then graduate school on the West Coast where I met and married my fellow student and went to work at NASA/AMES. We spent my husband's postdoc year in Moscow, USSR, before coming to Boulder. On arrival in Boulder, I transferred from NASA to NOAA and continued my work in the field of solar physics, specifically space weather. I have always enjoyed the opportunity that science gives us to meet with and visit colleagues from many countries. I likewise really appreciate the International Visitor Program and the opportunity to learn from and make friends with people from around the world.
